In Ciociaria, Southern Lazio, a wonderful land of agricultural families and evocative rural landscapes, a motivated group of people decided to create a strategic plan for the local community with the aim of uniting all knowledge and resources of these small realities, as difficult as they are beautiful. This is how RES Ciociaria (Economic Solidarity Network) was born. An association promoting social issues based on values of non-profit solidarity. It was created with the aim of facilitating and enabling local project potential through the creation of a network between product suppliers and users, the improvement of human resources and skills, and the creation of services to aid networking and comparison.
The strategic plan, combining solidarity, creativity and economic competitiveness, has expanded and become more structured and has brought with it other players, such as FUTURA. We have decided to join this world because we share its values, the vision of the future seen in terms of the defence of peoples’ dignity and work, of rural traditions, of the environment, of authenticity and healthy food. Thanks to all this we want to see the welfare of local populations revive and grow.
The Association’s journey began with agriculture and the Heroic Agriculture project, created by the social cooperative Common Good, which develops and implements entrepreneurial projects powered by Res Ciociaria. The main product in this project is pasta, with the rediscovery of ancient grains, real treasures belonging to these places. Today the list of products has expanded but the care for each bag of pasta, each preserve and each sauce has remained the same: “Our products are like children to us, it is almost painful to break away from them. However knowing that they go to people who are aware of the importance of these small things that we are creating, the result of manual work, thought and energy, fills us with joy and gives us extraordinary wealth” explains Arduino Fratarcangeli, who created RES Ciociaria.
The landscape has always played a crucial role in Ciociaria. Attracting the tourist/ consumer to explore the landscape, where the products related to the Association are produced, and enjoying the unspoilt nature, is an integral part of the project.
RES Ciociaria has always been considered part of the FUTURA family and officially joined the Group in 2021. There are many dreams to work on together and many projects with a “good heart”, for the Ciociare lands and for those who live there and for those who want to enjoy this extraordinary food and nature.
