Achille Spadacini 4th best in the world in his category

A great result for Achille Spadacini who, at only 17 years old, won fourth place in the final at the Junior Canoe World Championships in Portugal. Great enthusiasm in Verbania at the Polisportiva Club for the commitment and determination shown by the young Verbanese in this competition, where he was racing against very strong and highly trained competitors. Achille’s goal was 7th or 8th place for the K1 one thousand meters Montemor-o Velho race, however after arriving 2nd in the semi-final on Friday 3 September, he realized that he could aim higher. The final on 4 September was an exciting test for Achille who was expertly supported by his coaches. He managed the race with intelligence, pacing himself well, and recovering brilliantly in the last 250 meters, to finish just under 3 seconds from the third in the standings. Congratulations to the young athlete and the Polisportiva Club, Verbania which has been promoting sport for young people since 1954 and in particular kayaking. CO-VER is proud to have been supporting this mission for many years.
